MEET THE PHYSICIANS AND STAFF

 

Ronny  

Ronald F. Feinberg M.D., Ph.D.

As a Board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Dr. Feinberg is the Medical Director for the IVF Program at Reproductive Associates. A native Philadelphian, Dr. Feinberg graduated with both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1983. His Ph.D. work formed the basis for his career in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, focusing on how steroid hormones function within the body. Dr. Feinberg extended his clinical work in Women's Health by completing an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Yale University in 1987. He then returned to the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor on the Standing Faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to his clinical practice, he directed a March of Dimes funded and National Institutes of Health funded research laboratory studying the molecules responsible of human embryo implantation. In 1993 Dr. Feinberg was awarded a sabbatical to pursue a clinical subspecialty Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Penn. He remained on the Faculty at Penn through his Fellowship and until 1997, when he joined Dr. McGuirk at Reproductive Associates of Delaware. He also joined the clinical faculty at Yale University School of Medicine in 1997, where he is currently an Associate Professor (Adjunct) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is an attending physician with the Christiana Care Health System/Medical Center of Delaware. Dr. Feinberg has co-authored 35 publications, most as lead or senior author. He is an associate member of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians/Gynecologists (ACOG). Dr. Feinberg is also Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

Barby  

Barbara McGuirk, M.D.

Dr. McGuirk serves as the Director for Reproductive Surgery at Reproductive Associates of Delaware. She is Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and is an active candidate for Board certification in reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. A native of New York, Dr. McGuirk settled in the Delaware area in 1989. A graduate of Penn State University and St. Georges University Medical School, Dr. McGuirk completed a 5 year residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Center of Delaware. It was at the Medical Center where Dr. McGuirk was drawn to the new and exciting area of fertility care and reproductive surgery. After completion of her residency in 1993, Dr. McGuirk pursued a subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia. Her active areas of interest during fellowship included new laparoscopic approaches to tubal disease, and research activities focusing on polycystic ovarian syndrome, nutrition, and implantation. Dr. McGuirk returned to Delaware in 1995 to establish Reproductive Associates, with the mission of providing compassionate, ethical, and individualized care to couples suffering from fertility problems. Since that time, Dr. McGuirk has enhanced her training by furthering the field of laparoscopic reconstructive surgery, providing new options for couples in the Delaware area. She serves as the Director of Reproductive Endocrinology at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington. Dr. McGuirk is an attending physician at the Christiana Care/Medical Center of Delaware, and plays an active role in teaching and research. She is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). She also serves on the Physician Medical Advisory Panel for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Delaware.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Janet Storch, Financial Coordinator

Janet has worked in the medical/patient finance field for 14 years. She is a certified physician coder through the American Association of Procedural Coders (AAPC). Her experience in billing is of multi-specialty with a sting focus on OB/GYN since 1986. Her main objective in our office is to supply financial support and advice to our patients. She will coordinate activities between our patients, their primary OB/GYN of PCP offices and third party payers to ensure proper authorizations are obtained and all services are billed properly and timely.

 

Marky  

Marc P. Portmann, IVF/Andrology Lab Manager

Marc received his bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from the University of Delaware in 1989, after which he entered the field of Assisted Reproductive Technologies. His training includes all aspects of human in vitro fertilization, including micromanipulation of gametes and embryos, as well as andrology. Marc has aided in the design and startup of two fully functional, state-of-the-art IVF and Andrology/Endocrine Laboratories and has successfully subjected these laboratories to stringent state and national laboratory inspection processes. He is presently working on his Master's Degree in Health Administration and is expected to graduate from Widener University in the year 2002.

 

Tiffany  

Tiffany Testa, Patient Care Coordinator

Tiffany has been working in the medical field since 1994. She joined Reproductive Associates of Delaware in 2000, first working as the Patient Coordinator and then, in May, 2001, moving into clinical care as a Medical Assistant. She will complete her studies to become a Certified Medical Assistant in September, 2001.

 

Leigh  

Leigh Uyeda, Billing Assistant

Leigh is a Delaware native. She joined Reproductive Associates of Delaware in 1999, after completing her coursework in Medical Office Practice at Cecil Community College. She assists the front desk and billing department with insurance issues.

 

Cai  

Dr. Cai Wang, Laboratory Associate

A native of Shanghai, China, Cai brings a unique perspective and set of experiences to Reproductive Associates. As a practicing pediatrician and chief of the department at the Shanghai Second Medical University, Cai emigrated to the United States in 1983 to pursue a research sabbatical. In 1989, he joined Dr. Feinberg's research at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, where his research endeavors included cell culture of trophoblasts. He moved with Dr. Feinberg to Reproductive Associates, where he currently staffs the clinical laboratory for sperm and endocrine blood studies.
